I’ve been meaning to post this video for some time. I have become fascinated by how under-appreciated the banjo is. The more I study this instrument the more I appreciate how versatile it is. Modern bluegrass and clawhammer styles have squeezed out some of the better and more varied styles, songs and skill, reducing the instrument’s apparent repertoire. This isn’t to diminish the skill of modern players, but there is so much more to the instrument than what is currently popular. There are more than 21 documented tunings for the banjo, normally tuned to the key of G.
